HEADING INTO 2007: Will serve as tri-captain for the second year in a row... Maine's starting first baseman.
2006: Had a great season for the Black Bears... named to the America East Second Team... named to the America East All-Touranment Team... had a .995 fielding percentage... finished fourth in America East in batting average (.368), second in runs scored (57), hits (82), third in total bases (122), fifth in on-base percentage (.442) and eighth in slugging percentage (.547)... finished third on the team with a .368 batting average with 57 runs scored and 50 RBI... led the team with 19 doubles... had three triples and five home runs... led Maine with 27 multi-hit games... had seven three-hit games... had 10 multi-RBI games, including a five-RBI game and a six-RBI game... was 3-for-5 with six RBI against LIU (3/13)... was 2-for-5 with three runs scored and five RBI against NYIT (4/21)... belted a pair of home runs in the game... batted .462 with two runs scored and one RBI in the America East Tournament... scored three runs against UNC Wilmington in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional (6/3)... drew three walks in the game... named a UMaine Scholar-Athlete Award winner and also named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.
2005: Had an outstanding season for the Black Bears... one of just two players to start all 54 games for Maine... finished third on the team with a .340 batting average... led the team with a .987 fielding percentage... ranked second on the team in RBI (43), doubles (17), slugging percentage (.538) and on-base percentage (.426)... tied for the team-lead with 13 multi-RBI games... finished third on the team with 25 multi-hit games... went 3-for-6 with a run scored and two RBI in Maine's game against Oklahoma in the NCAA Regional... finished 2-for-4 with a run scored in Maine's 6-5 win over Vermont in the America East Championship game... finished with a career-high seven home runs on the season... named to the America East Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.
2004: Had a strong rookie season for the Black Bears... named to the America East All-Rookie Team... finished second on the team in batting with a .359 average... earned the starting spot at first base.... started 37 of the 47 games that he played... ranked tied for fourth on the team with a .392 on-base percentage... scored 25 runs on the season... led the team in fielding percentage at .992, making just two errors in 254 chances... recorded a season-high five hits in Maine's 16-11 win over Husson (4/21)... scored three runs and drove in five in the game... had four hits and scored five runs in Maine's victory over Colby (4/29)... belted his first home run in Maine's 6-2 victory at UMBC (5/21).
2003: Sat out the season as a redshirt.
BEFORE UMAINE: Two-time Penobscot Valley Conference Player of the Year for Brewer High School... also named to the all-state squad his senior year... played Legion baseball with the Brewer Falcons... born December 26, 1983.... son of Nancy and David Barrett... an elementary education major with a concentration in history.
