HEADING INTO 2008: Will compete for time on the mound... played ice hockey for the Black Bears during the 2007-08 season and will join the baseball team at the conclusion of the hockey season... had a goal and an assist for the Black Bears through 16 games.
2007: Saw action in 10 games for the Black Bears in 2007 earning five starts... finished the season 1-1... picked up a win over Monmouth (3/7), a team that competed in the 2007 NCAA Tournament... struck out a career-high eight batters in the game... struck out seven batters against NYIT (3/25)... struck out four batters in 4.1 innings against 14th ranked Arizona State (3/16).
2006: Boike was 4-2 on the season with a 4.50 ERA... his ERA was lowest among Maine's pitchers with 40 or more innings... started nine of the 14 games that he appeared in... fanned 19 batters on the season... pitched four innings in relief against Stony Brook in the America East Tournament (5/25)... allowed just two hits while striking out four... earned the win in the game.
2005: Saw action in nine games for Maine, earning starts against Brown and UMBC... finished 0-1 on the season with an 8.53 ERA... earned a pair of saves in games against IPFW (3/13) and Harvard (3/26)... pitched a season-high three innings in Maine's game against IPFW (3/12) where he fanned a then career-high three batters.
BEFORE UMAINE: Captain for Dan Hiroh at Arlington High School... finished 7-1 as a senior with 71 strikeouts in 50 innings... hit .385 with 19 RBI... posted a 15-2 record during his high school career with 130 strikeouts in 94 innings... recorded a .370 career batting average with 37 RBI... did not commit an error during his four years as a pitcher or at first base...
