2008: Saw action in 48 games for the Black Bears, missing just the final game of the season... hit .328 which was second on the team, with 35 runs scored and 25 RBI... his 64 hits were second on the team... had seven doubles and three home runs... led the team in stolen bases with 15... had a team-best seven three-hit games... finished with 12 two-hit games... posted a 10-game hitting streak starting April 22 against Thomas and ending May 10 against Vermont... hit .356 in America East Conference games... had a pair of doubles in the season-opener against Delaware State (2/24)... was 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI in Maine's 10-8 victory over Stony Brook (4/25)... has made just two errors in 138 career games and they came in the same game against Vermont... has a career .989 fielding percentage... won back-to-back New England Collegiate Baseball League championships with the Vermont Mountaineers during the summer of 2007 and 2008... named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award winner.

BEFORE MAINE: Captain as a senior for Peter Kostacopoulos, brother of former Maine head coach Paul Kostacopoulos, at Worcester Academy... played in the outfield and also saw time on the mound... batted .435 with 20 RBI and 21 runs scored... a four-time league All-Star... earned MVP honors in 2002, 2003 and 2005... born October 4, 1986... son of Gail and John Cather... a business major.
