HEADING INTO 2005: Will serve as a co-captain of the Black Bears... Maine's most versatile and valuable player... can start in the infield, outfield and as a pitcher... is expected to start at first base and also occasionally on the mound... is a very solid pitcher who will be used as a starter during midweek games and when needed... played for Bourne in the Cape Cod League in the summer of 2004.
2004: Had an outstanding season for Maine... named to the America East second team... named to the New England Collegiate Baseball Association second team... led Maine with a .365 batting average... led the Black Bears in runs scored (48), RBI (45), doubles (19), total bases (117), at bats (219)... hits (80) and games played (55)... led America East in hits, doubles, hits per game and finished second in runs scored and total bases and fourth in average... lone Black Bear to start all 55 games... put together a season-high 12-game hitting streak... had 29 multi-hit games... had 14 multi-RBI games... scored at least one run in 33 of the 55 games... was 4-for-5 in season-opener against St. Francis (1/28)... was 2-for-3 with two runs scored against Albany in the America East Tournament (5/27)... was 3-for-4 with four RBI in Maine's win over Brown (4/20)... hit two home runs in the fifth inning becoming just the third player in Maine history to hit two home runs in the same inning... was also the starting and winning pitcher in the game.... was 2-0 on the mound with a 1.77 ERA... struck out six batters in 20.1 innings... named to the America East Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and also named a UMaine Scholar-Athlete award winner.
2003: Saw action in 27 games at first base, starting 16... batted .322 with seven
runs scored and 17 RBI... went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI against Binghamton (4/26)... went 2-for-3 with a runs scored and three RBI vs. Stony Brook (5/10)... did not commit an error on the season in 103 chances... saw action in 14 games on the mound, starting four... posted a record of 5-0 with a 4.14 ERA... pitched a complete game four-hitter in Maine's 15-1 victory over Northeastern (4/19)... struck out a season-high seven batters against Hartford (4/13)... struck out 33 batters on the season while walking 22... picked up saves against Iowa and Stony Brook.
2002: Posted a 3-1 record in 12 appearances... gave up just one hit in five innings of work against Husson (4/17), striking out a season-high seven batters... had a 5.30 ERA and pitched 35.2 innings... recorded 25 strikeouts.
BEFORE UMAINE: Played for his father, Terry Creek, at Maranacook where he helped lead the Black Bears to the 2000 Class B state title, and state runners-up in 2001... as a senior, posted a 4-1 record on the mound with 54 strikeouts and just four walks in 31 innings pitched... also hit .493 with six home runs and 29 RBI... went 5-0 as a pitcher during his junior season with 38 strikeouts and 25 walks in 35 innings of work, and hit .449 at the plate with 31 RBI... earned Mr. Maine Baseball honors, and was the Maine Gatorade Player of the Year... a USA Today Honorable Mention All-American... earned first team All-Conference honors in basketball, finishing his career with 1000 points and 1000 rebounds... his brother, Tony, plays baseball at Husson College (NAIA Division II) in Bangor... born Aug. 8, 1982... son of Terry and Petrina Creek... a secondary education major.
