HEADING INTO 2006: Will be in the starting rotation for the Black Bears... played for the Keene Swamp Bats in the New England Collegiate Baseball League in the summer of 2005... started the 2005 NECBL All-Star game and was named the league's top pitcher for 2005.
2005: Had an great season for the Black Bears... finished 8-2 with a 4.02 ERA... pitched 69.1 innings on the season... struck out 42 batters... finished with four saves on the season... pitched a season-high 6.2 innings against Oklahoma in the NCAA Tournament... threw 6.0 innings against Seton Hall (3/2) in his season debut and struck out five batters... also fanned five batters against Vermont in the America East Tournament where he picked up his eighth win of the season... pitched 6.0 innings against Hartford (4/25) where he allowed just one unearned run in the game as Maine defeated the Hawks 6-3.
2004: Had an outstanding season for the Black Bears... finished 5-2 with a 3.13 ERA... recorded a team-high five complete games... ranked fourth in America East in ERA... pitched 74.1 innings which was second on the team... struck out 53 batters... started nine games... pitched a complete game shutout in Maine's 3-0 win over NYIT (3/28)... allowed just four hits while striking out five... pitched a complete game against UMBC where he scattered just three hits over seven innings while striking out three batters (5/21)... earned his first career save against Hartford (4/18) where he pitched four scoreless innings striking out four batters... recorded a career-high nine strikeouts in 7.1 innings against Binghamton (4/24)... recorded eight strikeouts in his next outing, a 14-4 win over Vermont (5/2).
2003: Saw action in seven games, starting three... was 1-2 with a 6.16 ERA... threw 19 innings striking out 12 batters... earned his first career win with a 9-3 victory over Colby (4/29) when he started and pitched six innings, allowing four hits and two runs, while striking out a career-high five batters.
BEFORE UMAINE: Posted a 5-3 record for Dover High School, coached by John Carver... pitched 68.2 innings and led the team to a 16th seed in the New Hampshire state tournament... named to the All-State First Team... as a senior, played in the New Hampshire-Vermont Twin State Game for New Hampshire... born March 1, 1984... son of Alison Wallingford and Ron Martin... a business major.
