HEADING INTO 2006: Named a captain of the Black Bears... will start in left field for the Black Bears... played for the Keene Swamp Bats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League in the summer of 2005 where he was selected to play in the 2005 NECBL All-Star game.
2005: Had an outstanding junior campaign for the Black Bears... named to the America East Conference Second Team... earned America East All-Tournament Team honors... named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team and was placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration... one of just two players to see action in all 54 games... batted .335 with 46 runs scored and led the team in RBI with 49... had a team-high 18 doubles, one triple and seven home runs... led the Black Bears with 28 multi-hit game, including a pair of four-hit games... tied for the team-lead with 13 multi-RBI games... also led Maine in total bases (115) and in hits (74)... went 3-for-5 against Northeastern (5/27) in the America East Tournament where he hit a grand slam in Maine's 12-0 shutout of the Huskies... finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI, including a home run, in Maine's 12-2 win over Southern Miss in the NCAA Tournament... named to the America East Academic Honor Roll and also named a UMaine Scholar-Athlete Award winner.
2004: Saw action in 53 games, starting 52... batted .294 with 39 runs scored and 44 RBI... finished second on the team in RBI (44), and home runs (6) and third in hits (58) and slugging percentage (.472)... hit 11 doubles, three triples and six home runs on the season... was 2-for-5 with three runs scored against Brown (4/20)... was 4-for-5 with a run scored and two driven in at Binghamton (4/24)... named America East Player of the Week April 26 after batting .545 in five games with seven runs scored and seven RBI... was 2-for-3 with a runs scored and six RBI in Maine's 14-4 win over Vermont (5/2)... named a UMaine Scholar-Athlete Award winner... named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.
2003: Named to the America East All-Rookie team... saw action in 36 games starting 30 in the outfield... tied for the team-lead in hitting with a .340 average... scored 25 runs and drove in 25... hit five doubles and five home runs... recorded eight multi-hit games... had a least one hit in 24 of the 36 games that he played in... finished the season with a six-game hitting streak... went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and six RBI in Maine's 13-9 win over Binghamton (4/27)... hit his first career home run in Maine's 3-1 loss to Iowa (3/15).
BEFORE UMAINE: Was named Class L Player of the Year in New Hampshire after hitting .550 for Manchester Memorial... Quintal led Memorial to a 14-4 record his junior and senior seasons... was named to the all-state and all-region teams... also played for Sweeney Post #2 in Legion baseball... born June 20, 1984... son of Rick and Cheryl Quintal... a business major.
