![]() BLACK BEAR FOOTBALL YOUTH EXPERIENCE SET FOR SATURDAY

This Saturday, April 30, will be a full day of activity for area youth at the University of Maine. The Black Bear Football team will conclude it's spring practice schedule with their final scrimmage followed by hundreds of young Black Bears taking the field for the Black Bear Youth Experience. Participants will have the opportunity at instruction from Maine coaches and players in a series of drills. The scrimmage is scheduled to conclude at 11:15 a.m., with the experience scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. The experience is scheduled to last approximately 40 to 50 minutes. Following the Youth Experience, participants will have the opportunity to take photos with Black Bear players and coaches, and University mascot, Bananas. Each participant will also be given a complimentary ticket to the Maine baseball doubleheader against Vermont beginning at Noon at Mahaney Diamond. "We are excited to provide the opportunity for future Black Bears to experience a practice session with our current football team. All of them will get a chance to run through our drills and work with our players," said Head Coach Jack Cosgrove. "The camaraderie that takes place is fun to watch!" Notes for Participants:

Black Bear football will provide 2 additional opportunities this summer for youth to learn the game of football from Maine coaches and players at our annual football summer camps. The College Division-Controlled Contact Camp will be held June 25-28 and is open to boys entering grades 3 through 8 while the NFL Division-Controlled Contact Camp will be held on June 28th through July 1, 2005 and is open to boys entering grades 9 through 12.
