DELAWARE GAME STORYLINES

**After a bye week last Saturday, the Maine Black Bears return to the gridiron this week to face No. 24/20 Delaware. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., this Saturday at Delaware Stadium (22,000) in Newark, Del. The game will be televised by CN8 throughout several major markets in the Mid-Atlantic states.

**The Black Bears are coming off a tough 24-10 loss to top-ranked James Madison two weeks ago in Orono. Maine tied the contest at 10-10 early in the fourth quarter on a 35-yard touchdown run by redshirt freshman running back Derek Session. However, JMU pulled out the win late in the game with two unanswered touchdowns. Redshirt freshman H-back Jared Turcotte rushed for a team-high 82 yards on only 11 carries. Senior defensive lineman Jovan Belcher recorded a game-high 13 stops for the Black Bears.

**Delaware is coming off a 17-7 loss at Massachusetts last weekend in Amherst. The Blue Hens gave up 459 yards of offense to UMass, while registering just 167 yards of offense themselves.

**Jared Turcotte was named the CAA Football Rookie of the Week back on Sept. 29 for his performance versus James Madison. He averaged 7.5 yards (82 yards on 11 carries) versus the Dukes, who were yielding just 3.9 yards per rush entering the contest. It was the first weekly award handed out by the conference to a Black Bear this season.

**Maine and Delaware are meeting for the 28th time with the Blue Hens owning a 21-6 advantage in the previous 27 meetings. However, Maine won the last meeting versus Delaware back in 2005 with a 25-15 triumph.

**The Blue Hens advanced all the way to the FCS title game last season before falling to three-time champion Appalachian State. The game versus Delaware marks the fourth time in the last five seasons Maine will face a team which competed in the FCS national championship game the previous season. Maine is 0-3 in the previous three contests.

**Maine is facing a nationally-ranked team for the third-straight game. The streak began on Sept. 20 at No. 2 Richmond, and continued on Sept. 27 versus top-ranked James Madison. Maine's last win over a nationally-ranked opponent was a 28-7 triumph over No. 17 Towson back on Oct. 7, 2006.
