Lisa Panepinto, originally from Spokane, Wash., enters her first year as Administrative Assistant for the men's ice hockey team. Panepinto studied English and creative writing at Washington State University, where she earned a B.A. in English in 2005. Shortly after graduating, Panepinto came to Maine as an Americorps VISTA volunteer, where she worked with the Penobscot Indian Nation at the Department of Human Services on Indian Island, focusing on outreach to tribal elders. While working for the University of Maine and Maine Hockey, Panepinto is pursuing a teaching certificate, and continues to study literature. She has a weekly radio show for the Maine college station, WMEB. She remains close with her brother, John, and mother, Mimi, who remain in Spokane. She resides in Old Town. |
