Auction Items Set for Maine Hockey Banquet

ORONO, Maine-- The Friends of Maine Hockey salute the 2007-2008 University of Maine Men's Hockey Team and the 30 years of Maine hockey success. Join them in celebrating and to say good-bye to the seniors at the annual University of Maine Men's Hockey Banquet on Friday, May 9 at Jeff's Catering in Brewer. The cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with the buffet dinner immediately following. The banquet is open to the public. The fast-paced live auction and the popular silent auction will feature over 40 items including autographed NHL items from former Black Bears, more historic memorabilia from 30 years of Maine hockey and great gifts from area merchants. Other auction items include a framed Bobby Orr signed "Legends of Hockey" card, a Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas signed photo and puck, five tickets to a Red Sox game and a framed Tom Brady Patriots jersey. As always, the eight senior road jerseys will be auctioned to the highest bidder. All funds collected go directly to the men's ice hockey program. Come and meet the team one last time! Get those autographs you've been hoping to get and enjoy an evening with the Maine Black Bears, coaches, and fellow hockey enthusiasts! Dan Hannigan will be emceeing the evening so it is sure to be filled with poignant tributes, amazing stories and plenty of laughter. Individual tickets are $30 each. Tables of eight can be reserved for $240. All reservations must be made by Friday, April 25.
