Bishop Named Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass.-- University of Maine men's ice hockey goalie Ben Bishop (Des Peres, Mo.) was named the Pure Hockey Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Bishop led Maine to a weekend sweep of Hockey East Rival Northeastern.

On Friday, Bishop made 32 saves as the Black Bears earned a 3-2 win over the Huskies. He finished with 15 saves in the third period alone. On Saturday, Bishop made 31 saves as Maine won 4-3.

Bishop is 4-2-0 on the season with a 2.18 goals against average and a .930 save percentage.

The Black Bears return to action on Friday, Nov. 2 when they travel Boston College for a 7 p.m. game with the Eagles.
