Men's Soccer Falls to Yale 2-0

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The University of Maine men's soccer team fell to Yale 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in New Haven, Conn. The Black Bears move to 1-3 on the young season, while Yale was playing it first game of the season. The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 26:57 when Jordan Raybould tallied his first goal of the season off a play that initially started from a corner kick. Eric Meyer and Alex Guzinski each assisted on the goal. Yale added to its lead at 61:40 when Meyer beat Maine keeper Alex Pilitsis (Brunswick, Maine). Max Rhodes and Charlie Neil each assisted on the goal. Pilitsis, making his first collegiate start, made five saves. He falls to 0-2-0 on the season. Travis Chulick made four saves for Yale. He improves to 1-0-0. Yale finished with a slim 14-11 edge in shots. The Bulldogs also finished with a 9-6 edge in corner kicks. Thomas McCole (Toronto, Ontario) and Nikola Bogdanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) each had three shots for the Black Bears. The Black Bears return to action on Sept. 12 when they travel to Brooklyn, NY. to face Long Island University at 5 p.m. -U-M-
