Men's Soccer Team Shutout by New Hampshire, 2-0

DURHAM, N.H.- The University of Maine men's soccer team was shutout by New Hampshire, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon. The Black Bears are still looking for a win on the season, they are 0-11-0 overall and 0-3-0 within the America East conference. New Hampshire earned their first America East win of the season, giving them a 1-2-0 record in the conference, 6-4-2 overall. The Black Bears defense kept New Hampshire from scoring until the 67th minute of play. The first goal of the game was scored by Wildcat Bryan Stewart at 67:43. Less than five minutes later the Wildcats scored again with a header from John Bergqvist at 72:14. Maine had limited scoring opportunities, sophomore Dimitri Anastasiou (Colchester, Conn.) was credited with the lone shot on goal for the Black Bears. Junior goalkeeper Giacomo Brunino (Concord, Ont.) made five saves, while New Hampshire's Brian Levey earned one save in the game. The Black Bears travel to NC State on Wednesday, October 4.
