Men's Soccer Falls to Boston University

ORONO, Maine-- The University of Maine men's soccer team fell to Boston University 2-0 on Wednesday night in Boston, Mass. The Black Bears fall to 2-8-1 on the season and 0-1-1 in America East play. BU improves to 6-5-0 overall and 1-1-0 in conference play. BU opened the scoring at 42:59 when Aaron O'Neal got the rebound of his initial shot and beat Maine keeper Nemanja Kostic (New Belgrade, Serbia). The Terriers took the 1-0 lead into halftime. BU added to its lead at 53:20 when O'Neal scored his second goal of the game from Jim Oh. For O'Neal, it was his fifth goal of the season. Maine keeper Kostic made six saves in 50:09. He picks up the loss and falls to 2-7-1 on the season. Giacomo Brunino (Concord, Ontario) made one save in 39:51 for the Black Bears. Joe Cullaro made three saves for Boston University. Thomas McCole (Toronto, Ontario) led Maine with two shots in the game. The Black Bears return to action on Saturday, Oct. 13 when they travel to UMBC for a 1 p.m. game with the Retrievers.
