Men's Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision to Hartford

West Hartford, Conn. -- The University of Maine men's soccer team lost 2-0 at the University of Hartford on Saturday night. The Black Bears fall to 3-6-2 on the season with the loss and 0-2-1 in America East play. Hartford improves to 7-3-2 overall and 3-0-0 in conference play.

Hartford struck first at 23:14 when Ivan Guarin (Pereira, Columbia) found the back of the net during a free kick, his first goal of the season. The Hawks scored again at 76:44 on a Carlos Villa (Las Conchas, Guatemala) tap in from Cedomir Tomcic (Novi Sad, Serbia) to seal the loss for Maine, it was Villa's 11th goal of the season.

Hartford had a 15-10 lead in shots. Nemanja Kostic (New Belgrade, Serbia) made five saves as he fell to 2-3-2 on the season. Luke Citriniti (Niskayuna, N.Y.) made three saves for the Hawks.

Nikola Bogdanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) led the Black Bears with three shots.

Maine returns to the field on Wednesday, October 15, when it hosts Boston University Terriers at 3 pm.
