Men's Soccer Defeated 1-0 by Boston University

Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Boston University on Wednesday afternoon. The Black Bears fall to 3-7-2 on the season with the loss and 0-3-1 in America East play. The Terriers improve to 6-5-2 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play. Boston came out firing, scoring only 7:19 into the first period when forward Stephen Knox (Arima, Trinidad) sent a cross pass to the goalie's left, which Ben Berube (Somerset, Mass.) quickly sent back to the goalie's right to be tapped in by Shaun Taylor (Sandown, England), for his sixth goal of the season. Afterwards, Maine was presented with several opportunities but was unable to finish. The Terriers led 20-8 in shots. Nemanja Kostic (New Belgrade, Serbia) made 11 saves, but falls to 2-4-2 on the season. Hrafn Davidsson (Reykjavik, Iceland) saved two shots to improve to 6-5-2. Jake Ostrov (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.)) led the Black Bears with three shots, including one on goal. The Terriers' Michael Bustamante (Chelsea, Mass.) and Maine's Kostic were named the Men of the Match. Maine will look to turn things around when they travel to New York to take on Stony Brook on Sunday, October 19, at 2 pm.
