Men's Soccer Falls to Binghamton

VESTAL, N.Y.-- The University of Maine men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to Binghamton on Saturday night in Vestal, N.Y. The Black Bears fall to 3-10-1 on the season and 1-3-1 in America East play, while Binghamton improves to 11-3-0 and 3-1-0 in conference play. Binghamton scored three quick goals to take an early 3-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the game. Adam Chaves scored his first goal of the season from Barry Neville on a header from the right side 7:18 into the game. Keith Cameron scored from Matt Narode on a deflected cross from the left side at 7:44. Justin Leskow made it 3-0 Binghamton on a shot from the middle of the box that beat Maine keeper Nemanja Kostic (New Belgrade, Serbia) at 8:55. Cameron added a pair of second half goals to give the Bearcats a 5-0 win. Binghamton outshot Maine 19-4 in the game. Thomas McCole (Toronto, Ontario) and Marc Goulet (Plainville, Conn.) each had shots on goal for the Black Bears. Maine keeper Kostic made six saves in 70:20. He falls to 3-9-1 on the season. Giacomo Brunino played the final 19:40 and made one save. The Black Bears return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 24 when they host Vermont at 3 p.m. at Alumni Field in Orono. -U-M-
