Men's Soccer Upended By Boston University, 5-0

ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine men's soccer team lost its last game of the season to Boston University this afternoon. The Black Bears finished the season without a win, giving them an overall record of 0-17-0, 0-8-0 America East. BU finishes the regular season with a record of 9-4-4, 4-3-1 in conference action. The BU Terriers sophomores led the squad, having five members of that class register 13 out of the teams 14 total points in the game.

The Terriers scored in the sixth minute of play with a goal from sophomore Jin Oh. The goal was assisted by sophomore Samuel Appiah. In the first half BU got another goal to bring them ahead 2-0. The goal scored by sophomore Neil Hlavaty at 16:57 was assisted by sophomore Dan Schultz.

During the second half of play Oh beat the defender just inside the box to notched his second goal of the game at 59:02. The Terriers third goal was assisted by sophomore Jon Jonsson. Hlavaty earned his second goal of the game with a goal in the 62nd minute to increase the Terriers lead to 4-0. Schultz registered the Terriers fifth goal of the game at 76:34, senior Jarryd Goldberg is credited with the assist

The Black Bears goalkeeper, sophomore Ben Piotrowski, tallied five saves in his forth game in net. The Terriers had three different goalkeepers in action today. Senior Zach Riffett is credited with the win, he played the first 45 minutes for the Terriers. Sophomore Hrfan Davidsson started the second half, he made three saves in 37:57 minutes of play. Freshman, Joe Cullaro played the last 7:03 for the Terriers, he recorded one save.
