ORONO, Maine-- The University of Maine men's soccer team downed Binghamton 1-0 on Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at Alumni Field in Orono. The Black Bears improve to 5-9-2 on the season and 2-5-1 in America East play, while Binghamton falls to 10-5-3 overall and 5-3-0 in conference play.

Maine's Jake Ostrov (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was named the Man of the Match for Maine, while Binghamton's Kyle Kucharski received the honor for the Bearcats.

Maine scored the lone goal of the game at 28:22. Maine's Corey Sinclair (Richland, Wash.) lobbed the ball over the head of Binghamton keeper Jason Stenta. Jake Ostrov was behind Stenta and was able to kick the ball into the open goal. For Ostrov, it was his second goal of the season.

Neither team was able get a goal the remainder of the game. Binghamton had an 18-9 advantage in shots in the game. Maine keeper Nemanja Kostic (New Belgrade, Serbia) made five saves in goal. He improves to 4-7-2 on the season. He records his fourth shutout of the season. Stenta made three saves for Binghamton and falls to 10-5-3.

Before the game, Maine honored seniors Sinclair, Kyle LeDuc (Topsham, Maine) and Dimitri Anastasiou (Colchester, Conn.). The five wins on the season for Maine are the most since the team finished with five during the 2004 season.

The Black Bears will play their regular-season finale Wednesday, Nov. 5 when they host Harvard at 2 p.m.
