ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine men's indoor track and field team hosted Central Connecticut State in the Maine Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Maine Fieldhouse. The Black Bears picked up a 101-66 victory over the Blue Devils. Maine won twelve of the seventeen events in the meet.

In the 60 yard hurdles, Maxwell Ludwig (South Portland, Maine) was first with a time of 7.80. Eric Libby (Hamden, Maine) took first in the 500 meters in 1:06.37 and Miles Bartlett (Casco, Maine) won the 800 meters in 1:55.49. In the 55 meter dash, Arel Gordon (Rochester, N.Y.) continued to blaze past the competition this season, taking first place in 6.30. Scott O'Connor (East Greenville, Pa.) won the 1000 meters in 2:33.82 and Donald Drake (Portland, Maine) won the 3000 meters in 8:44.35. The Black Bears won both the 4x440 and 4x880 relays. In the pole vault, Mark Liimakka (Old Town, Maine) won by clearing 3.56 meters. Skip Edwards (Portland, Maine) was first in the long jump, going 6.78 meters. Jeff Ramos (Turner, Maine) cleared 1.98 meters in the high jump for first place, while Carson Hartman (Fort Kent, Maine) won the triple jump with a distance of 12.89 meters.
