Jeffrey Ramos Wins High Jump At America East Championships

BOSTON, Mass. -- Jeffrey Ramos (Turner, Maine) won the high jump at the 2008 America East Championships held on Saturday, Feb. 23 in Boston, Mass. Maine as a team placed eighth with 28 points. Albany won the meet with 186 points.

Ramos took top honors in the high jump as he cleared 2.02 meters. Skip Edwards (Portland, Maine) was third in the 400-meter dash in 48.79. His time of 48.43 in the preliminaries set a new school record.

Matt Holman (Gardiner, Maine) was fifth in the 500-meter dash in 1:05.52. The 4X400-meter relay team of Joshua Maxwell (Gorham, Maine), Jeremy Wood (Scituate, Mass.), Holman and Edwards was fifth in 3:20.78.

Max Ludwig (South Portland, Maine) was seventh in the 55-meter hurdles in 7.88. Mark Liimaaka (Old Town, Maine) placed seventh in the pole vault as he cleared 4.35 meters.
