Black Bears Compete In NCAA Track Regionals

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The University of Maine had two student-athletes compete in the NCAA East Regional Track and Field Championships on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17. The Regionals were held in Greensboro, North Carolina and hosted by North Carolina A&T State University. Jeff Caron and Clarissa Michalak qualified for the meet by winning their events at the America East Championships.

On Friday night, Jeff Caron (Auburn, Maine) waited through a rain delay and began the 5000 meters at 11:00 pm. He finished 23rd overall with a time of 14:59.74.

On Saturday, Clarissa Michalak (Cumberland, Maine) competed in the hammer throw. With a throw of 45.19 meters, she was 25th overall in the event.
