Maine Track Competes At NCAA Regionals

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The University of Maine men's and women's track and field teams sent three participants to the NCAA East Regionals hosted by Manhattan College on May 27 and 28. Despite strong performances, the Black Bears did not score any points in the meet.

On Friday, Kathryn Souviney (East Vassalboro, Maine) ran the 100 meter hurdles, running a 14.44 in the preliminaries for a 27th place finish. Hana Pelletier (Belgrade, Maine) ran the 800 meters in 2:11.01 for 25th place overall in the preliminaries. Neither Souviney or Pelletier advanced to the finals. On Saturday evening, Mike Lansing (Lovell, Maine) ran the 3000 meter steeplechase finals and finished eigthteenth overall with a time of 9:12.87.
