Lansing, Souviney and Wiechman Earn America East Honors

BOSTON, Mass. - The America East Conference announced today that Michael Lansing and Kathryn Souviney have been named the men's and women's track Performers of the Week, while Micralyn Wiechman has been named the Women's Field Performer of the Week.

Michael Lansing (Lovell, Maine) set a school record in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 8:57.73 to finish fourth overall at the SeaRay Relays at the University of Tennessee. His time qualifies for the NCAA Regionals to be held at the end of May in New York.

Kathryn Souviney (East Vassalboro, Maine) set a school record with 4705 points in the hepthalon to finish seventh overall at the SeaRay Relays at the University of Tennessee last weekend. Her time in the 100 meter hurdles during the event was 13.86, which qualifies for the NCAA Regionals.

Micralyn Wiechman (Buxton, Maine) took first place in the shot put at the Wildcat Invitational II on Saturday with a throw of 38-11.75.
