Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Place Second at UMass

AMHERST, Mass..--The University of Maine men's and women's cross country teams both placed second at the University of Massachusetts cross country meet on Saturday morning. Miles Bartlett (Casco, Maine) paced the men's side with a seventh place finish while Corey Connor (Townsend, Mass.) and Hilary Maxim (Old Town, Maine) led the women's side with third and fourth place finishes, respectively.

On the men's side, Bartlett ran the race in a time of 26:06 and was followed in 14th place by Riley Masters (Bangor, Maine) who had a time of 26:50.

Christopher Harmon (Scarborough, Maine) took 17th with a time of 26:55 and was followed closely in 18th by Corey Bean (Cornville, Maine) with a time of 27:03.

On the women's side, Connor ran the race in a time of 18:35 and was closely followed by Maxim with a time of 18:37.

Vanessa Letourneau (Fairfield, Maine) and Stephanie Jette (Lovell, Maine) took 10th and 11th with times of 19:10 and 19:11, respectively.

The cross country teams return home on Friday for a meet with New Hampshire at 2 p.m.
