Cross Country Team Place First and Second

ORONO, Maine--The University of Maine men's and women's cross country teams placed second and first, respectively, in a dual meet against New Hampshire on Friday afternoon at the University of Maine. Christopher Harmon (Scarborough, Maine) led the men's team with a second place finish while Corey Conner (Townsend, Mass.) led the women's team with a second place finish as well.

Harmon led the men's team with a time of 26:06.37. New Hampshire's Wesley Moseman (Remsen, N.Y.) won the meet with a time of 25:54.73.

Corey Bean (Cornville, Maine) placed third for the Black Bears with a time of 26:16.33 while Charles Therriault (Clinton, Mass.) placed sixth in a time of 26:36.41.

The UNH men accumulated 25 points to the Black Bears' 33.

On the women's side, Conner ran the course in a time of 18:13.58 to lead the Black Bears to the victory. Hilary Maxim (Old Town, Maine) came in fourth with a time of 18:39.26 while Vanessa Letourneau (Fairfield, Maine) came in sixth with a time of 19:03.40.

The Maine women scored 27 points to New Hampshire's 32.

The cross country teams return to action next Saturday, Oct. 4, when they will be competing at the annual Murray Keatinge Invitational hosted by the University of Maine. The races begin at 2 p.m.
