Cross Country Competes at Murray Keatinge Invitational Saturday

ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine men's and women's cross country teams finished fourth and sixth, respectively, Saturday at the 2007 Murray Keatinge Invitational at the Maine Cross Country Course on the Orono campus.

On the men's side, Christopher Harmon was the highest Black Bear finisher as he placed 12th in a time of 25:43.10. It marked the second-straight race Harmon was Maine's top finisher, as he placed second last weekend against New Hampshire in a dual-meet in Orono. David Englehutt was Maine's next highest runner to place as he took 15th in a time of 25:46.70. Miles Bartlett was the third Black Bear to finish in the top 20 as he finished 20th in a time of 25:54.10.

On the women's side, Jessica Belliveau was the top finisher for Maine as she finished fourth in a time of 17:32.20. It marked the second time in three races this season she was the top placer for Maine as she won the women's individual race at the UMass Invite two weeks ago in Amherst, Mass. Elonnai Hickok finished 11th for Maine in a time of 18:01.30.

New Hampshire won the men's race with a score of 36 points, while Dartmouth finished as the runners up with a score of 56. Yale took third with a score of 71 points, followed by Maine in fourth with 122 points.

Duke won the women's race with a score of 30 points, while Yale finished second with 74 points. Saint Francis Xavier was third with a score of 92. Maine took sixth with 152 points.

Both Black Bear teams return to action next Saturday when they take part in the New England Championships in Boston, Mass. The race will begin at 9 a.m.
