Women's Basketball Falls at Vermont

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Bracy Barker scored 16 points, but it wasn't enough as Maine dropped a 71-57 decision to Vermont at Patrick Gymnasium in Burlington, Vt. Maine fell to 8-7 overall and 2-2 in America East. The Catamounts improved to 13-3 and 3-0 in the league. Ashley Underwood chipped in 11 points for the Black Bears. Barker led Maine in scoring for the third-straight game. Courtnay Pilypaitis led all scorers with 20 points for Vermont. Maine held a 50-41 lead with 9:04 remaining in the game, but the Catamounts closed out the contest on a 30-7 run to earn the win.
Maine returns home on Wednesday when the Black Bears play host to Stony Brook at 7:30 p.m., at Alfond Arena.
