Box Score

ALBANY, N.Y. - Abby Schrader recorded her America East-leading ninth double-double of the season with 19 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, to lead Maine to a 61-52 road win over Albany on Sunday at the Recreation and Convocation Center.

It was Maine's first conference road win of the season and snapped a nine-game road losing skid. The Black Bears improved to 7-14 overall and 3-7 in the conference. Albany dropped its seventh-straight game and fell to 5-17 overall and 1-10 in the league.

Margaret Elderton chipped in a career-high tying 13 points, while Bracey Barker netted 13 as well.

Albany was led by Amanda Ward's team-high 18 points.

The Great Danes held a 50-46 lead with seven and a half minutes remaining in the contest, but the Black Bears closed out the game on a 15-2 run to seal the win. Elderton scored five during the stretch for Maine.

Maine went into the locker room at halftime with a 35-29 lead. It was the Black Bears' first halftime lead since the UMBC contest on Jan. 21 in Orono.

The Black Bears return home for their next game on Wednesday night, when they play host to Vermont at 7:30 p.m., at Alfond Arena. Fans wishing to purchase tickets can do so by calling 581-BEAR or toll-free at (800) 756-TEAM.
