HARTFORD, Conn. - Abby Schrader scored a team-high nine points, but Maine dropped a 65-41 decision to Hartford on Saturday afternoon at Chase Arena in Hartford, Conn.

The Black Bears dropped to 8-17 overall and 4-10 in America East, while Hartford ran its record to 22-3 and 14-1 in the league.

Margaret Elderton chipped in eight points for Maine, while Bracey Barker added seven points and six rebounds. Brittany Bowen scored six points as she knocked down a pair of three pointers in the contest. It marked the first time all season Maine was held without a double-digit scorer.

The Hawks were led in scoring by Danielle Hood, as she netted a game-high 19 points. Erika Messam was Hartford's other double-figure scorer with 14.

The Black Bears kept it close in the first half and only trailed 28-21 at halftime. However, the Hawks opened the second half on a 10-0 run and led by double-digits the rest of the way.

Maine will return home this week and close out the regular season with a pair of home games. The Black Bears will play host to Boston University on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., and then take on Stony Brook next Saturday at 12 p.m. Tickets are still available for both games and can be purchased by calling 581-BEAR or toll-free at (800) 756-TEAM.
