Box Score

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Ashley Underwood scored a team-best 21 points, but it wasn't enough as the University of Maine women's basketball team could not hold onto a 10-point halftime lead and fell 67-56 to Stony Brook on Saturday afternoon at the Indoor Sports Complex.

Maine closes out the regular season with a 13-14 record and a 7-9 mark in America East. The Black Bears will now get set for the 2007 America East Tournament next weekend (March 8-11) at the Events Center in Vestal, N.Y., on the Binghamton University campus.

Bracey Barker added 14 points and 12 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.

Four Seawolves scored in double-figures, including a team-high 16 points from Jessica Smith. Dana Ferraro notched a double-double for Stony Brook with 13 points and 10 boards.

The Black Bears shot a blistering 60 percent from the floor in the first half and built a 37-27 lead heading into the locker room at halftime. Underwood scored 18 points in the opening 20 minutes, as Maine led by as many as 13.

However, the Seawolves outscored the Black Bears 40-19 in the second half to earn the come-from-behind win. SBU ran its record to 18-10 on the season and 14-2 in the league.
