CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. - Katie Whittier led Maine in scoring for the second-straight game, but it wasn't enough as the Black Bears dropped a 63-34 decision at Boston College on Sunday at Conte Forum.

Whittier scored a team-high 12 points, marking her third-straight double-figure scoring game. Ashley Underwood chipped in six points as Maine fell to 5-4.

Kathrin Ress scored a game-high 21 points for BC, which improved to 8-3.

Maine used a 6-0 run to open the second half and tied the contest at 21-21. However, the Eagles outscored the Black Bears 42-13 the rest of the way in earning the win.

Boston College ran its record to 4-1 over Maine in the all-time series. The two schools, who are only separated by a four-hour drive, were meeting for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.

The Black Bears will be off for the holidays and return to action in 11 days. Maine travels to Charlottesville, Va., to compete in the Cavalier Classic on Dec. 28-29. The Black Bears will face host-school Virginia on Dec. 28, and then face either UAB or Northwestern State on Dec. 29.
