SCOUTING MAINE: Maine (16-8, 12-2 AE) face the Boston University Terriers (11-12, 6-8 AE) in America East action on Wednesday night at 7:30pm at Alfond Arena. Maine will look to win their 10th consecutive game this season against the Terriers. In the Black Bears last outing, senior Missy Traversi (Attleboro, Mass./Bishop Feehan) led Maine to victory with 16 points and 6 rebounds in an away win at Hartford, 56-51. Traversi scored the final eight Maine points to secure the win. Sophomore forward Bracey Barker (Bar Harbor, Maine/Mount Desert Island) chipped in 12 points and 8 boards. Traversi leads the Black Bears in scoring this year with 13.1 ppg followed by Barker with 11.2 ppg.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: With nine points and three rebounds against Hartford this past Saturday, senior forward Monica Peterson (Wilmington, Del.) needs 15 rebounds in the last three games to jump from eighth to sixth on the career rebound list. Peterson need 51 points to surpass 1,000 career points. With her performance on Saturday, Peterson passed Carrie Goodhue (1988-92) who had the 16th spot with 942 career points. Peterson has 949 in her career and now senior captain Missy Traversi (1,050) and Peterson occupy the 15th and 16th spots in career points in Maine women's basketball history.

SCOUTING BOSTON UNIVERSITY: Boston University dropped a pair of games last week falling to Stony Brook, 79-65, on the road, and losing to Northeastern, 70-64, at Agganis Arena. Against the Seawolves, senior forward Adrienne Norris scored 10 points. Red-shirt sophomore Katie Meinhardt scored 19 points against the Huskies. Rachel Vanderwal leads the Terriers with 11.4 points per game and Norris leads the team in rebounding with 8.0 rpg. The team is coached by Kelly Greenberg who is in her first season as head coach at Boston University.

THE SERIES: Earlier this season, senior Kim Corbitt (Albany, N.Y.) led Maine with 21 second half points in a victory over the Boston University Terriers, 73-55. Three Black Bears scored in double figures in the America East conference win. Maine and Boston University have played each other 55 times with Maine leading the all-time series, 35-20. The America East Championship has been between these two teams the past two years with Maine winning the championship in 2004.
