The game tips off at 12 p.m., in historic Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Black Bears sport an all-time record of 620-315-1 for a winning percentage of 66 percent. Maine is 26-18 all-time in season openers, including winning two of the last three. **Maine head coach Cindy Blodgett returns for her second season on the Black Bear bench in 2008-09. A 1998 graduate of Maine, Blodgett starred at the school from 1994-98, where she helped lead the program to four-straight trips to the NCAA Tournament. **Blodgett played under head coach Joanne P. McCallie at Maine. Palombo-McCallie headed up the program from 1992-2000, and led the Black Bears to a combined 167 wins over eight seasons (average of 20.8 wins a season). Maine won at least 20 games in each of her last seven seasons in Orono and went to the NCAA Tournament on six-straight occasions. Palombo-McCallie was also the coach of the 1998-99 team that knocked off Stanford in the first round of the tournament, marking the first NCAA win in program history. **Maine is facing an ACC opponent in its season opener for the second-straight year. The Black Bears opened last season with a tough 74-59 loss at Clemson. Maine went 1-2 versus ACC competition last season, including a 54-53 win over Miami, Fla. in the first round of the Hurricane Holiday Classic in Coral Gables, Fla.
**Duke won't be the only Blue Devils Maine will face this season. After opening the season at Duke, Maine hits the road for its next game of the young campaign on Thursday at Central Connecticut State. CCSU is also nicknamed the Blue Devils.
