ORONO, Maine-- Providence College scored three second half goals to defeat the University of Maine 4-1 in college field hockey action on Saturday morning in Orono, Maine. Providence opened the scoring at 8:49 when Nellie Poulin, a native of Oakland, Maine, made a long pass to Meghan Holden who was just in front of the left post. Maine cut into the Providence lead when Katie Flaherty (Winslow, Maine) tipped a Kristen Healy (Turner, Maine) shot that Providence goalie Rachel Chamberlain was unable to stop. For Flaherty, it was her first goal of the season.

Providence grabbed the momentum right back with two goals by Melissa McGow within a minute. She scored her first goal at 48:29, an unassisted tally, off a scramble in front of the cage. Her second goal, at 49:26, came off a penalty corner from Jessica Lane.
