Healy Leads Maine Past Cornell

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--Kristen Healy (Turner, Maine) scored the lone goal of the game as the University of Maine field hockey team downed Cornell 1-0 on Monday afternoon in Cambridge, Mass. The Black Bears improve to 5-8 on the season. Cornell falls to 4-5 on the season.

Healy notched the game-winner at 38:02 off a penalty corner. For Healy, it was her first goal of the season and first of her career.

Maine was outshot 21-5 in the game.

Maygan Cassarino (Milford, N.H.) made 14 save in the victory. She improves to 2-2 on the season and earns her first career shutout. Lizzie Goldblatt made two saves for Cornell.

The Black Bears return to action on Friday, October 13 when they host New Hampshire at 1:00 p.m.
