Field Hockey Receives More Postseason Awards

ORONO, Maine--University of Maine field hockey players Nicole Emery (Winthrop, Maine) and Máire Dineen (Toronto, Ontario) have been named to the America East All-Academic Team while freshman Kelly Newton (Vancouver, British Columbia) has been named to the Womensfieldhockey.com National All-Rookie Team. Emery, a senior captain, maintained a 3.80 grade point average while majoring in kinesiology and physical education. Dineen, a sophomore midefielder, has a 3.97 grade point average in intermnational affairs and economics. Her grade point average is the highest among the 11 selected for the All-Academic team. Newton was the 2008 America East Rookie of the Year and a First Team All-America East selection. She led the conference with 1.67 points per game.
