Karine Senecal is back for her third season as an assistant coach for the University of Maine. For the 2007-08 season she served as a graduate assistant before being named assistant coach in September of 2008.
Senecal will be assisting in recruiting for the Black Bears as well as organizing road trips, fundraising, and community service participation projects for the players including coordinating local youth hockey skill clinics for the greater Bangor area community.
Senecal played four years on defense for the University of Maine and had career totals of two goals and 19 assists for 21 points. She was a Maine Scholar-Athlete all four years. She earned the Presidential Pin Award for Human Development and also earned Hockey East All-Academic Team honors both her junior and senior years. Senecal was also named a Top Scholar-Athlete in Women's Hockey East for the 2006-07 season.
Prior to Maine, Senecal played in the WNHL as well as representing Quebec at the Canada games. She also played in the CESEP league.
Senecal earned a Bachelors degree in KPE Teaching and Coaching and completed her Masters of Education right here at the University of Maine.
