Cheryl White Named Hockey East Player of the Week
Feb. 13, 2006 Orono, Maine -Senior captain and forward Cheryl White (Portage la Prairie, Manitoba) was named Hockey East Player of the Week for her four goal performance in this weekend's sweep of the Vermont Catamounts. White netted two goals in Saturday's 7-0 win over Vermont and then added two more in Sunday's 3-0 win. White tallied her fifth two-goal game performance this season. This is the first time White has recorded back-to-back two-goal games in a weekend series and the second two-goal performance in back to back games. Earlier this season White netted two goals versus Sacred Heart and then at Providence. White now has team-high 14 goals on season and netted her 35th career goal. With the four goal weekend, White has now moved to fifth place in the Black Bear record book in career goals with 35. Karen Droog (00-04) has 74 followed by Meagan Arts (00-04) with 61 and Raffi Wolf (98-03) who has 55 career goals, and Tristan Desmet (01-05) and Alison Lorenz (97-00) both have 45 career goals. White also holds the fifth place spot in career assists with 38 and is third in career games played (126), one behind Meagan Aarts (127) and four behind leader Tristan Desmet (130). With four games remaining, White should tie Desmet for the overall career games played leader.
