ORONO, Maine - University of Maine women's ice hockey interim head coach Lauren Steblen announced today that her program has received commitments from Sarah Bishop, Jordan Colliton, Courtney Fox and Kaitlin Zeek to attend the University of Maine in the fall of 2007.

"We are excited to have such a diverse class coming in," said Steblen. " We welcome a goalie, three defenseman, and two forwards, all of whom bring with them excellent individual and team accomplishments. Together the class will add great depth and skill to the Maine women's hockey team. Each individual will bring their own assets to the game and team, with hardwork and dedication to the sport."

Sarah Bishop is a goaltender from Agawam, Massachusetts. She attended Grand Blanc High School in Michigan and also attended Westfield State College. In 2006-07 with the Connecticut Polar Bears she was 15-2-0 overall with a .915 save percentage and a 1.50 goals against average. Jordan Colliton is a forward from Blackie, Alberta. Last season she played at Warner High School with 19 goals and 26 assists for 45 points. Warner High School won the championship in 2005-06. She was a member of Team Alberta for the 2007 Canada Winter Games and also competed in the Alberta Winter Games in 2004.

Courtney Fox is a defenseman from Jacksontown, New Brunswick. She played at Woodstock High School, where she scored 33 goals with 29 assists and was named team Most Valuable Player. The team won the 2006-07 NBUAA High School Championship and she was selected to the league All-Star game. Fox also served as assistant captain for Team New Brunswick at the 2007 Canada Winter Games Team.

Kaitlin Zeek is a forward from Wallingford, Connecticut. Last season she was team captain at the Pomfret School and also played for the Connecticut Polar Bears. With the Polar Bears, the team won the 2006 St. Jerome Tournament and competed in the 2006-07 Under-19 Nationals in San Jose, California.

These four players join defensemen Madelene Eriksson and Muriel McIntyre, both of whom signed National Letters of Intent in November.
