Women's Hockey Hosting Halloween Skate

Orono, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team will be hosting a Halloween skate on Thursday, October 30, in Alfond Arena. Entrance is free and the event will last between 5:30-7 pm. Children can join the Black Bears on the ice where they will have areas for both beginners and experienced skaters. Off the ice, there will be face painting, candy, hot chocolate and autograph signings. The Halloween skate will also feature a costume contest, raffles, games and a chuck-a-puck contest. The team will be collecting non-perishable food items throughout the event in partnership with the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC). No rental skates will be available. Donations will be accepted and proceeds will benefit the University of Maine women's ice hockey team. The Black Bears(2-4-0) return to the ice on Saturday, October 25, when they travel to Boston University to take on the Terriers at 3 pm.
