Women's Soccer Falls to Binghamton 1-0

ORONO, Maine-- The University of Maine women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Binghamton University on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field in Orono, Maine. The Black Bears fall to 7-3-1 on the season and 1-1-0 in America East play, while the Bearcats improve to 7-2-1 on the year and 1-1-0 in conference play.

The two teams played through a scoreless first half, with Maine outshooting Binghamton 6-2. The Bearcats notched the game-winner just over a minute into the second half. Kim Pavill fed Deli Plourde who was about 20 yards out. Plourde beat UMaine keeper Tanya Adorno (Farmington, Conn.) with a shot just inside the top right corner.

Maine dominated the majority of play the rest of the game, but were unable to get any quality scoring opportunities. Maine finished with an 11-7 advantage in shots. Adorno made two saves in the goal for the Black Bears and falls to 5-3-1 on the season. Kristie Bowers made two saves in goal for the Bearcats and improves to 7-2-1 on the year.
