ORONO, Maine--University of Maine women's soccer forward Christine LaBelle (Nepean, Ontario) was named the America East Player of the Week on Monday while freshman forward Carolyne Nellis (Quebec City, Quebec) was named the Rookie of the Week. They are the third and fourth awards earned by the Black Bears this season as forward Laura Martel (Lewiston, Maine) and goalkeeper Jasmine Phillips (Nepean, Ontario) both earned the Player of the Week honor previously.

LaBelle, a senior tri-captain, had the game-winning goal for the Black Bears against Cornell on Sunday. She is tied for the team lead in scoring with six points on the season.

Nellis had an assist against Dartmouth on Thursday and has five points in her first collegiate season.

The Black Bears return to action on Sunday when they travel to UMBC to open America East play at 12 p.m.
