Heather Hathorn Named America East Player of the Week

University of Maine women's soccer senior forward Heather Hathorn (Scarborough, Maine) was named the America East Player of the Week on Monday, October 24. It is the second America East Player of the Week honor for Hathorn this season.

Hathorn scored the game-winning goal in Maine's 2-0 win over Vermont on Thursday afternoon. She followed that up by scoring the game-winning goal in Maine's 2-0 victory over UMBC on Sunday afternoon. Hathorn has seven goals and two assists for 16 points on the season. She has scored the game-winner in each of Maine's last three wins.

Hathorn, Maine's all-time leading scorer, recently went over the 80 point plateau. She has a school-record 34 goals and 14 assists for 82 career points.

Hathorn and the Black Bears finished second in the America East regular season. Maine received a bye in the first round of the America East Tournament and will face the winner of the Binghamton vs. UMBC game on Sunday, October 30 at 2:30 p.m. at Boston University's Nickerson Field.
