The five total players for Maine was the second-most in the conference to Albany's eight.

Her 2.02ERA is second in the conference and she is also batting .241 on the year with seven hits and two RBIs. Last season, she was named to the America East All-Tournament team, and was named to the America East All-Rookie team in 2003.

Cheney, a junior shortstop from Abington, Massachusetts, leads the Black Bears with a .316 batting average and also has the team lead with 20 RBIs. This is the second straight season Cheney has been named to the first team, and as a freshman in 2003 was named to the second-team and to the All-Rookie team.

Brady, a senior outfielder from Jackman, Maine, has been named to the first team for the fourth straight season - the first Black Bear ever to earn four first-team selections. She is third on the team with a .297 batting average and is also third on the team with 35 hits and leads the team with 23 runs. She is second in the conference with 20 stolen bases on the season, adding to her team career record of seventy.

Maine also had three players named to the first team in 1994, 1999, 2002 and 2004. The five total honorees is the second highest-number, as the Black Bears have had six players total named in 1993 and 1994. Maine currently is 16-24 on the season with a 10-8 record in America East play.

Maine will face Boston University at 2:30 pm on Thursday, May 12 in the first round of the America East Tournament, hosted by Stony Brook. Maine will also play on Friday in the double-elimination tournament. The Black Bears reached the postseason for the fourth straight season, and are the defending America East Tournament Champions.
