Softball to Conduct Winter Clinics in January and February

ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine softball program and head coach Deb Smith will be conducting several winter clinics throughout the months of January and February at the Mahaney Dome on the Orono campus. The 2009 Winter Clinics will be held on Jan. 18 and 25; and Feb. 1 and 15, from 1-4 p.m. These clinics are available for kids in grades 5-12, and will cover all phases of the sport, including hitting, pitching and defense. The Coaches Clinic will be held on Sunday, Feb. 15, from 12-5 p.m. The clinic will be conducted by local college and high school coaches and will be open to coaches and parents looking to teach proper fundamentals to younger players. The clinic will also cover all phases of the sport.
