![]() Maine Swimming Splits Meet At Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The University of Maine women's swim team defeated Stony Brook 132-109, while the men's team was defeated by the Seawolves 133-85 on Sunday afternoon. The Black Bears had four individual winners in the victory in the women's meet. For the women, Colleen Miller (Missoula, Mont.) took first place in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.85 and added a second place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:17.04. Adi Levy (Givatayim, Israel) was first in the 200 butterfly, touching in 2:11.90 and Tal Shpaizer (Shoham, Israel) was first in the 200 back with a time of 2:09.27. Shelbi Settlage (Bothell, Wash.) took first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:28.56 and also added a second place finish in the 200 IM in 2:15.32. Mackenzie Grobmyer (Charlottesville, Va.) was second in the 200 fly in 2:18.83 and Kari Boffa (Falmouth, Maine) was second in the 100 free with a time of 55.43. Maine also took second place in the 400 free relay. In the men's meet, Jason Stevens (West Boothbay Harbor, Maine) took second place in the 100 back with a time of 50.63. Martin Fitch (Bangor, Maine) was second in the 200 back with a time of 2:09.78 and Chris Card (West Bath, Maine) was second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:18.12. On Friday, November 18, the women's team will host Husson College, while both the men's and women's teams will travel to Holy Cross on Sunday, November 20.
