Colleen Miller Named Swimmer of the Week

Orono, Maine - University of Maine's Colleen Miller (Missoula, Mont. / Hellgate) has been named America East Women's Swimming Performer of the Week. Boston University's Arik Seiler earned weekly honors as America East Men's Swimming Performer of the Week, while Boston University's Andre Watson and Tess Waresmith were named America East Men's and Women's Diving Performers of the Week. The conference made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon and it was the final set of awards for the 2007-2008 season.

Miller, a junior, won a pair of races against Dartmouth on Saturday after placing second in the 1,000 free against New Hampshire on Thursday. She also swam the lead leg of the 200 free relay, which defeated the Wildcats. Miller took the 200 free (1:56.34) and the 500 free (5:09.33) against the Big Green.

Next up for the Black Bears are the America East Championships. The first day of Champs will be held at Wallace Pool in Orono, Maine, beginning on Thursday, February 14, 2008. Tickets are available by calling 207-581-BEAR or 1-800-756-TEAM.
