Samantha Graham Honored By America East

BOSTON, Mass. - Binghamton University's David Holmes (Doncaster, England/Derby Univ.) and UMBC's Agnes Stanislawska (Zielona Gora, Poland/LO VI Zeilona Gora) have been named America East Men's and Women's Swimming Performers of the Week, respectively, while UMBC's, Jeff Salgado (Glen Rock, Pa./South Western) and University of Maine's Samantha Graham (Brewer, Maine/Vestal) earn Men's and Women's America East Diving performers of the week, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday (November 21).

Graham won both the one-meter and three-meter events in a dual meet on Saturday against Vermont. In the one-meter, she scored 201.38 points and in the three-meter had 217.20 points.

Holmes helped Binghamton win the Bucknell Trial/Finals Invitational this weekend. He captured both the 50-yard (20.55) and 200-yard (1:36.95) freestyle events highlighting Binghamton's performance on day one of the invitational. In the 200, he touched a full five seconds ahead of his closest opponent, meeting the NCAA 'B' cut and setting a new school record. On Sunday, Holmes set a new school record to lead Binghamton to a 1-2 finish in the 400-yard individual medley, stopping the clock at 3:56.79, more than eight seconds ahead of his closest competitor. Holmes also met his second NCAA 'B' cut of the weekend with a time of 44.55 to lead off the 400-yard freestyle relay. Holmes also swam a leg on all four Binghamton relay team's victory.

Stanislawska broke her own school record in the 200-IM with and NCAA consideration time of 2:03.74 at the George Mason Patriot Invitational over the weekend. She won three individual events, the 200-IM, 100-breast (1:04.38) and 200-back (2:02.88), and swam on three winning relays. She also placed second in the 100-back with a team and personal-best time of 57.81, the second fastest time in UMBC history. Her time in the 200-back is also a team and personal-best and the third-fastest ever for a Retriever, while 100-breast time is the fastest on the team this season.

Salgado placed third on the three-meter board (262.90) and fourth on the one-meter board (232.95) at the George Mason Patriot Invitational. His prelim score on the one-meter board (295.95) is his second-best of the season, while his prelim score on the three-meter board (287.60) is his third-best of the year.

Maine will return to the pool December 1 and 2 at the Rhode Island Invitational.
