Healey Named America East Performer of the Week

Dec. 11, 2007

Orono, Maine - University of Maine's Courtney Healey has been named America East Women's Swimming Performer of the Week. Boston University's Eric Carlson earned weekly honors as America East Men's Swimming Performer of the Week, while Boston University's Andre Watson and Tess Waresmith were named America East Men's and Women's Diving Performers of the Week. The conference made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon for the week ending December 10.

Healey (Reading, Mass./Reading Memorial) won both backstroke events for the second week in a row. She finished the 100 yard backstroke in 1:00.57 and the 200 yard backstroke in 2:08.75. Healey was also a member of the 200 yard medley relay team that came in second place. Healey has now won four backstroke events in a row as the Black Bears head into their winter break.

The swimming and diving teams will return to action January 19, 2008, when they head to Providence College to square off with the Friars.
